Turning the night Green

The down and dirty nightlife scene is even trying to make an effort to become green and clean. Jon B., owner of Manhattan nightclubs Home and Guest House, plans to open Greenhouse—the first eco club in the U.S. In the three-story space on 10th Avenue, LED lights replace standard bulbs, the toilets are programmed to use less water, furniture is covered with recycled material, and there will even be an organic drink menu. The club hopes to get LEED [Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design] certification, gold standard for green buildings. They are also contemplating green nightlife locations in Paris (Oui!) and Las Vegas.
